Server On Demand

The Server On Demand Service allows you to book a dedicated server for your own private use for a specific time period. You will have full RCON control of the server with your favourite RCON (Remote Control Administration) application. A list of RCON applications is listed below per game.

When you book a server you will be able to specify a number of server variables like server password, rcon password, configuration file (Feature is game dependant) & part of the server name. The first part of the server will always begin with "ZA SGS SOD". If you name your server "JOHNS Server" the full server name will be "ZA SGS SOD JOHNS Server".

Why has SGS setup this service?
In the past we have focused on a Clan Admin Server System where we setup a number of Clan Servers for private games. This has always been difficult to manage and maintain as we either had too many or too little servers available. We have also found it difficult to maintain the limited RCON type access to these servers via our web page. In the past our Clan Admin Servers were limited to static configurations. With our new Server On Demand service we have eliminated the problems faced in the past as anyone will now be able to upload a server configuration and use it once it has been approved (Feature is game dependant). Those who don't want to use their own configurations will still be able to use the SGS default configuration or even the approved configurations uploaded by other community members. Our aim with this service is to give the community more power and flexibility over the game servers we have reserved for private games.

So how does it all work?
We have setup a number of server machines with the games installed on them but the game servers are NOT operational. The game servers become operational when they are booked utilising the variables you have specified. Once your booking has expired, the server is shut down.

Rules

Users breaking the rules can have their access revoked.

:Do not use offensive words in your server name.
:Do not change the server name using rcon.
:Do not change the rcon password using rcon.
:Only book the server for the time period you need it.
:You can book a server for a maximum of 4hours.
:Abide by our Rules of Engagement when playing on these servers.
